About Savel Fabrics
Andrea Elish and her mother Sallie Hall’s appreciation for craftsmanship comes from their time living abroad.
While living in Mexico City, Sallie was inspired by the beautiful, hand-loomed wool fabrics that were designed by local weavers. When Sallie and her family moved back to the United States in 1984, she started Savel, which has at its roots the same love of textured, soft, dimensional fabrics.
After graduating from Vassar and HEC Paris, Andrea opened Savel’s New York office in 1994 and, in 2009, the flagship showroom at New York’s Decoration and Design Building.
Since Sallie’s retirement in 2019, Andrea has continued and expanded on Savel’s aesthetic tradition while introducing the innovative yarns that make the company known for both luxury and practicality.
Savel’s collections are available to the trade through showroom and representatives across the United States and in London.
